Your Questions
Licensing & Privacy
Is TCS licensed, bonded and insured?
Yes. TCS is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Commerce, is bonded and insured. TCS is also a current member of the ACA (American Collectors Association).
Does TCS follow FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act)?
Yes. But we take it a step further and actually treat your Members as you would want to be treated.
Does TCS keep information on Credit Unions and its Members confidential?
Yes! TCS shall maintain the confidential nature of all Credit Union information and its Members and shall not offer, sell or provide any confidential information to any person or entity.
Is TCS licensed in all 50 states?
No. TCS is not striving to be the biggest agency. We focus on being the BEST at collecting charge-offs for Credit Unions primarily in the upper Midwest and Florida.
Contracting & Payment
Does TCS require us to sign a contract "locking us in" for 1 or more years and push to use you exclusively?
No. TCS does require you to sign a "no obligation" contract agreeing to our very competitive rates, but you can stop using TCS at any time. However, TCS strongly believes if you were to give us 1 year to compete with whatever agency you are currently using, you will use TCS for many years to come as the Net Recovery for your Credit Union increases.
Does TCS get paid if they don't collect any money for the Credit Union?
No. TCS only gets paid on performance and will mail a Trust Check along with a detailed Trust Statement monthly for any payments received by your Members the previous month.
Will TCS handle my repo's and obtain Judgements for our Credit Union?
No. TCS does not want to be everything to everyone, but is committed to being the BEST at collecting Credit Union charge-offs in specific regions of the Country.
How do I start using TCS?
Call or e-mail the owner of TCS, Nolan Johnson, for a "no obligation contract".
Background & Experience
Does TCS require its collectors to follow a written script or have a certain number of calls (quota) they are required to make?
No. TCS only hires Top Collectors who take the time to listen to your Members and come up with a solution to get your Credit Union paid, ethically and professionally.
Will TCS compromise on hiring Top Collectors if it grows too fast?
No. TCS is not striving to be the biggest agency...just the BEST agency for Credit Unions and is even willing to turn away potential clients if necessary to maintain the highest level of productivity for our current clients. However, being a Top Collector and Collection manager himself, the owner of TCS, Nolan Johnson, knows how to attract, motivate and retain Top Collectors.
Does TCS have any background in Credit or Collections?
Yes. In addition to being a Top Collector and past Collection Manager, Nolan Johnson has a business degree from the University of Minnesota in Business and Speech Communications, along with an extensive background in banking, credit and collections. You can find more information on LinkedIn regarding his background.
Who do I contact with any questions?
Unlike other companies where your questions may be routed to the Sales Department that doesn't understand collections and tells you what you want to hear; with TCS, you contact the owner directly with any questions you have.
